Reply from Customer Services

This is a letter from Outfit in response to my earlier post - Too manly looking to shop at Outfit; read that first if you have just arrived at this post.

I've received a reply from customer services at Outfit, and after leaving it settle for a while, I don't think I'm satisfied by the response.

All I asked for were two things, an apology and some information on what steps would be taken to ensure this does not happen to anyone else.

This is the response I received:

Thank you for speaking with me on the 5 December

I was very concerned to hear of your complaint and have now made the Area Manager aware of the poor service you received at the Parc Tawe branch.

I would like to begin by assuring you that we would certainly not discriminate against anyone regardless of their gender or sexual orientation. As a general rule, our policy would have been for you to use the female changing rooms. Unfortunately on this occasion the Manager felt is necessary to direct you to the male changing rooms. I realise that this must have been very upsetting for you and we would never intend to cause any distress.

Please accept my assurances that any necessary retraining will be undertaken and we will do all we can to stop anything like this from happening again. Disciplinary action will be taken where it is needed also.

I understand that you do not want to go back to the store and I can understand why this is. I only hope you will one day reconsider and visit us again.

I'll be writing back to express my continued concerns that I don't feel this has really been acknowledged as a serious issue, and I still want an apology.

To this day, Outfit have given no further response or apology. Very poor indeed!
